Kan (Can)

To use these notes, as you count 1,2,3,4 out loud or in your head, hit the drum at the number where a note is written, and don't play where there are numbers written. Make sure to alternate right and left hands, i.e. don't play all the notes with the same hand.

For single notes, think of these as DON. For notes joined by a horizontal bar, think of these as DOKO. Notes that have lines through them, you play on the rim.
